Mr Gay South Africa ™ finalist: Jan du Toit

Well meet Jan du Toit. He is the winner of region 3 (Free State) of the Mr Gay South Africa ™ contests. He works as a business consultant, model and Account Executive in the financial and public consulting sector and also recently became the PR officer for the LGBTI organization.

Jan (30) describes himself as being young, vibrant and energetic and live life to the fullest. I enjoy sky diving, water skiing and horse riding. Furthermore, he enjoys the outdoors, gym, traveling, good wine, dinner with good company and the occasional night out with friends.

The following are some Q&A between myself and hunky Jan du Toit:

Jie-Shi: What I would like to know is why did you enter a competition like this?

Jan: It is the first time I ever do something like this, so I was asked by one of my friends and people at the local club in Bloemfontein to entry, so I did.

Jie-Shi: Why should people vote for you?

Jan: I would like to be a role model for the gay and straight community.
I am leading a balanced life in the sense of health living and have a health balance between work and play. I would like to be a role model for the gay and straight community. I have obtain a good qualification through hard work, witch give back to a successful career in corporate world in a successful and growing JSE listed company. I am heading up the Northern Cape and Free State part of my business unit. I have strong morals and values which are supported by my religious standards as Christian. I am a focus “go getter” in social, private and business life. I have strong social, business and friendship networks throughout South Africa and the World.

I am down to earth, committed and loyal in my work, gay community, and friends and family. I am single at this stage, but I am committed to my life partner if I have one. I am so glad that we in South Africa can get married, and one day I would like to get married. Although marriage is just a symbol, I believe in a strong love foundation for one another.

I am a people’s person, someone that will put myself aside to help others. I have seen the good and the bad side of life and I would like to assist / guide / help other people and be there for them. I know the feeling of being alone, which is why I know the importunacy of a strong friends’ support structure.

I have seen the good and the bad side of life and I would like to assist / guide / help other people and be there for them. I love working with people.

Jie-Shi: What do you think is the real values of competitions like Mr Gay SA are, if any?

Jan: There is great value for the gay and straight community for a competition like this.
It is something that we all can be proud of.

The struggle is not over yet, but in South Africa we can say thanks to people like the organisers of this computation and pride, ect. for how far we came in South Africa.

To be a finalist for Mr Gay South Africa™ makes me proud to be part of South Africa.
I always have been proud to be gay.

But the one thing is for sure, Jan du Toit stands out almost the rest the beefcakes. I think it is his raw Afrikaans charm that shines through or it could just be that he is just a great well rounded guy.
